I was approached by fan group in Vancouver to design fan following website for the American Chinese chicken General Tso General Tso. I took on the project, for am also a fan of the food. I gathered necessary documentation and contents that will support a an interactive website. I started by drawing sketches of the person who the food is named by. Then I did some rough sketches of the wireframe and style guide. I prototype the home page and mobile menu to have the feel of the site. After they requested a forum where they can interact and have conversations. I integrated a forum on the site.
I started by drawing the wireframes on paper. This process gives me the opportunity to put ideas than faster when am not accesible to computer. I am able to see problems earlier and correct them. I am also able to share with fellow developers who are not accessible to their desktops. We are able to see have conversation and process it even when we are on our breaks or outside. It also saves me some cost of money and energy.
With the ideas gained on the paper wireframing, I developed the wireframe on the Adobe XD. The layout was clear to me after having a paper and low fidelity wireframe. I was able to get the sense of the components, where items and contents are to be placed on the website.
The choice of color comes from the story and the background of the food. It originated from china so they wanted a color that represents chinese. I created a style guide to help with the communication of the website to the client and also to guide me with direction of the site.
